Three Main Organs of the Indian Government
India's governance is mainly formed by the three organs, namely, Legislature, Judiciary and Executive. The Union Legislature forms the laws for the country. The Union executive holds the responsibility for the implementation of these laws throughout the country. The Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha form the Legislature. The executive includes the President, Vice President, Prime Ministers and other ministers in the parliament. The third branch of the Indian democratic setup is the Judiciary. This section of the syllabus allows the students to understand different parts and functioning of the governmental system.

United Nations
World War I, which took place at the beginning of the 20th century devastated the world with its tragedy and horror. To establish the world's peace and security, people had an overwhelming desire to end the war. To fulfil this purpose of world peace, the United Nations was formed in 1945. The UN agencies work collaboratively to fulfil the following objectives:

Eradication of hunger, poverty, diseases and illiteracy.

Encouragement of mutual respect for freedom and rights of every citizen alike.
